Why is an "On Call Fee" charged on my account when the hospital is providing a 24 hour service? The hospital's regular staff is on duty between the hours of 8:00am-4:30pm from Monday-Friday and 8:00am-12:00Noon on Saturdays. After these times and on Sundays and holidays one member of staff from each service area is placed "on call" i.e. these persons are off duty but make themselves available whenever their services are needed. The service areas that have persons on call include, X-Ray, Pharmacy, Laboratory and Surgery Team. The "on call" fee you see on your account is for calling out these persons. *************** |

When the doctor has discharged me, why can I not just pay my account and leave immediately? If I have a refund of money on my account, what documents do I need to walk with in order to uplift the refund? To uplift the refund, you must walk with some form of identification such as your national registration ID. card or a valid driver's licence or passport and all receipts for payments you made to the account on which the refund is due to you. *************** |

No. You need to send an authorization letter, authorizing the bearer of the letter, whose name you must state in the letter, to uplift the refund due to you.
